 FOR THE RECORD

Prempro Safety Alert!

U.S. government scientists recently stopped a major study of hormone replacement therapy on the risks and benefits of combined estrogen and progestin in healthy menopausal women, citing an increased risk of invasive breast cancer.

Researchers from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health also found increases in coronary heart disease, stroke and pulmonary embolism.

If you or a loved one has taken Prempro, Premarin, Premphrase, Provera, or other hormone replacement therapy drugs, you may have an increased risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, stroke, heart attack, or blood clot.

Whatever problem you may have, our Prempro attorneys want to help you. You can see us for free. Please call us now. You may be entitled to receive compensation for your injuries.

Our law firm can assist you in making a claim under these circumstances:

  • Pulmonary embolism, heart attack, stroke, or blood clot event -- You took hormone replacement therapy drugs for 12 months or less prior to the event. If you took the drugs for more than 12 months before the event, it is very difficult to prove the drugs caused the event.

  • Breast cancer -- You took hormone replacement therapy drugs for three years or longer before the diagnosis of cancer, and have positive hormone receptors as part of the diagnosis. This is referred to as "hormone positive" cancer.

  • Other cancers -- You took hormone replacement therapy drugs for three years or longer before the diagnosis of cancer. These hormone-related cancers are normally limited to ovarian, gall bladder, uterine, and sometimes other types.

To get more information about the ways we can help you with your Prempro claim, visit our Web site at PremproAnswers, send an e-mail to us at info@kraftlaw.com, or just pick up your phone and call us at (800) 989-9999. There will be absolutely no charge or obligation for a consultation with our firm.

In The Public Interest:
Even if you are not considering making a legal claim for exposure to hormone replacement therapy drugs, we strongly urge you to contact your doctor if you have taken these medications. Your doctor will be able to explain any risk of injury, and will be able to advise you on the proper medical course of action.

If you are considering making a legal claim, your rights and obligations will vary depending on many different factors. You should act promptly in getting advice from a lawyer so you will fully understand your rights and be in a better position to protect them. At Kraft and Associates, we provide this initial advice without charge or further obligation.

Here is a list of hormone replacement drugs and medications:

Safe Driving Tips for Summer Vacations

If your family is planning a summer vacation that requires a long drive, you should take precautions against falling asleep at the wheel. This is especially likely to happen when driving at night, with the other occupants of car sleeping. Here are some ideas from the U.S. Department of Transportation:

● Get enough rest before beginning the journey.

● Set realistic travel goals regarding the time it takes to reach your destination.

● Eat healthy meals. Foods high in fat and sugar can contribute to fatigue.

● Listen to talk shows or sports on the radio, rather than music. Music can lull you to sleep, while talk can keep you alert.

● Open a window to let fresh air into your vehicle.

● If you become tired, stop your vehicle at a safe place. Take a short 20-minute nap, or drink coffee for short-term alertness until you can reach a place you can sleep for the night.

● Remember to always wear your seat belt, and make sure everyone else in the car is wearing theirs, even when they are napping. Use child safety seats properly, and put children under 12 years of age in the back seat.

 FEATURED CASE
Our law firm has handled many injury claims resulting from dog bites. Most people don't realize, until it happens to them or to a family member, that a dog bite injury can be extremely serious. The worst cases we see are those in which a child is bitten in the face, but adults also can experience painful and disabling injuries from dog bites. Everyone should have basic information to help prevent such injuries. In fact, the week of May 15-21 is National Dog Bite Prevention Week this year.

You can find a great deal of information about preventing injuries from dog bites on our firm's Web site at DogBiteInjuries.com.  We strongly encourage you to visit that site and read the articles there. Here are a few quick tips to teach your children:

● Speak quietly and move slowly around dogs.

● Before petting someone's dog, ask the person's permission. Let the dog sniff you first, then pet the dog's sides or back gently.

● Never sneak up on or pet a dog who is eating or sleeping. Animals may bite when they're startled or frightened.

● Never pet a dog who is playing with a toy. Dogs are often protective of toys, and may think a child is trying to take it.

● Never try to pet a dog who is in a car. Dogs will often protect that space.

● Never pet a dog who is behind a fence. Most dogs naturally protect their property and home.
