How to handle a tire
blowout:
If you are unfortunate enough to suffer a tire
blowout, do NOT slam on the brakes. This can
cause you to completely lose control. If a
front tire blows, your vehicle will swerve
toward the side with the blowout. If a rear
tire blows, the back of your vehicle will
weave from side to side.
Grip the steering wheel tightly and take your
foot off the accelerator. Stay in your lane of
traffic and do not try to pull your vehicle
off the road until you have the steering under
control. Then, pull completely off the roadway
and make certain you are not in danger of
being hit by traffic coming from behind.
If you have been injured as a result of a
defective tire, please contact our firm. We
would be glad to explain your rights and
obligations under the law.
